The location of the building Ar-Rahman Mosque is a waqf land of Raden Sastro Pawiro Djaya Diningrat. Construction of the mosque was done by non-governmental around  Sumatra Street and Pekanbaru area up to Tangkerang. However, Raden Sastro is the largest contributor for finishing the construction of this mosque.
 

Construction of the mosque began in 1930 until 1935. At that time, around the mosque there are three houses on stilts. Raden been initiated with the community to build the only mosque in the middle of town. The development concept is also very simple. The walls, floor, and a pillar of the mosque when it only comes from regular board with thatched roofs and buildings shaped stage with a height of 1 meter. The building area is also only 8x8 m2. The mosque also painted using used oil, so the color of the mosque slightly brownish black color to join the board.

SULTAN SYARIF KASIM II INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT


Sultan Syarif Kasim II International Airport  is an international airport that serves the city of Pekanbaru, Riau, Indonesia. The airport is often referred to as SSK II, SSK or Sultan Syarif Qasim II International Airport (SSQ II), and formerly known as Simpang Tiga Airport. The namesake of the airport is Sultan Syarif Kasim II, the last sultan of Siak and an Indonesian National Hero. The airport serves flights to and from several cities and towns in Indonesia and neighbouring countries such as Malaysia and Singapore.

The airport area and runway is also shared with Roesmin Nurjadin Air Force Base, a Type A airbase of the TNI-AU (Indonesian Air Force). The airbase is named after the former Chief of Indonesian Air Force, Cmdr. Roesmin Nurjadin. Starting in early December 2014, it served as the homebase of 16 F-16 squadrons upon completion,[1] the additional squadron which is Skadron Udara 16, comprising a fleet of F-16 Blok 52RI and existing Skadron Udara 12 Black Panthers, comprising a fleet of Hawk Mk.109s and Mk.209s.

In early 2010, the first phase of the airport's expansion started with the construction of a new terminal to replace the original terminal built in the 1980s. The original terminal was demolished to make way for additional parking spaces. The new terminal will sport a modern design with three jetways and a larger apron. Despite the opening of the new terminal in 2012, two out of the three jet bridges commenced operation in late July 2014. This is the first time in the history of the airport that jet bridges were utilised.

Durian is one of favourite fruit in Pekanbaru. Durian from this city has special quality and taste delicious. Around Sudirman Street, we can find a number of Durian Shops, usually people eat it with Pulut Rice. This fruit also processed into dodol or often named as Lempuk Durian. Lempuk Durian become one of souvenir from Pekanbaru.

An old building with a rich history trail danger of being lost. The historic building that is the home of Mr. Kadi Zakaria in Gang Roadside Senapelan Kampung Bandar Senapelan District Pekanbaru.

The old house was built with European style by the architect who built the Palace of Siak. The house was also a rest house or home stopover Sultan Syarif Kasim II when they travel to Pekanbaru, there is even a special room Sultan.

Now the historical heritage building is owned by H Syahril Rais. Inside the house there are objects such as chairs carved from China which has an estimated age of 200 years. Old lamps, and radio. From the home visits Riau Pos, residents Rafius are still brothers with their owners say though never renovated, but the poles, wooden doors and windows are still original and in accordance with its original form
